Employment History

World Snooker

April 2013 – Present

I obtained a voluntary placement with their press office for the snooker World Championship at the Crucible in Sheffield. During my work for World Snooker I wrote match reports and features on the players who were competing in the tournament. Whilst doing this I also transcribed post-match interviews so that World Snooker could put an instant reaction on their website, whilst I found news cuttings which were relevant to the sport and distributed them to a wide selection of world press.

Scunthorpe United Football Club

July 2012 – Present

I obtained a voluntary placement as a media assistant working on the club’s official website and match day programme as part of my university placement. I have written a wide selection of material for the website and programme including features and news content. I work mostly with the first team and occasionally I cover and promote the club’s youth team. In addition to the written content I film commemorative events for the website as well as each interview which is uploaded on to the internet. On match days I provide a written commentary through the club’s official twitter account.

Rugby Football League

March 2012 – August 2012

This was voluntary work as a freelance reporter covering regional and national schools tournaments and festivals for the RFL.com. I worked alongside the RFL’s Champion Schools sector reporting for matches which included the Universities final at Headingly and the School’s final match which takes place prior to the Challenge Cup final at Wembley.

Doncaster Rovers Football Club

October 2007

Final school year experience working as a media assistant writing articles for the club’s website. I wrote a series of pre and post match articles as well as conducting interviews for the website.
